The flavors in this tea make an interesting and enjoyable combination. The spicy ginger, sweet mango, and floral calendula match up well. The floral notes are a little stronger than I would prefer, but not enough to be overpowering
Oh my... I was very curious about ginger and mango together... that combination could go in many different ways. I am glad to say this was a home run.
Upon opening the resealable package, you are greeted with a nice sweet ginger forward scent. The blend is punctuated with dark black tea leaves, as well as tan to bright yellow fruit pieces and petals. I followed the instructions and used 2 tsp. (I like my teas a bit bolder) and just boiling water. I let my cup steep for 10 minutes - and that was just about perfect.
The entire kitchen carried the sweet scent of the ginger and mango. When pouring, you also get a nice molasses scent from the black tea.
And the first sip - was absolute heaven. This is a very fruit-forward blend with the ginger being the most prominent (to me). The mango rides just behind the ginger and blends beautifully with the black tea flavor on the back-end of the sip. All the flavors have a moment to shine in this blend.
I have tried this both hot and iced - and the flavor is exceptional as both. Hot tea, for me, goes very well as an after dinner beverage to wind down for the evening. As iced, this tea was incredibly refreshing and paired well with afternoons outside. I typically serve my teas unsweetened (and have a simple syrup for anyone that likes a bit of sweetness)... and this tea works very well both ways.
I also have to mention how wonderful Everyday People Coffee & Tea is... Very prominently displayed on their packaging, "WE GIVE BACK... A percentage of our sales helps supports organizations in childhood education for at risk youth & nature conservation efforts to protect our environment." Beautiful people, wonderful mission, fantastic product = SOLID 5 STAR REVIEW!
This looks like a quality tea, with the dried tea leaves and flower petals in whole pieces, and the bits of ginger and mango visible.
This has a warm flavor from the ginger (not spicy), slightly sweet and bright from the mango, and the floral notes come out at the end.
It's a pleasant, bright tea that's enjoyable in the afternoon as a perk-me-up.
This comes in a foil-lined, zip top bag.
